Gladiator Rocks Basketball

The Gladiator Rocks is the official community outreach programme of the Lady Rocks!

The programme delivers local basketball and dance for young people aged 5-12 years of age, working to provide them with the opportunity to improve their interpersonal skills, become healthier and more confident individuals. Our basketball programme also offers a pathway to a performance based environment within the Lady Rocks or Glasgow Rocks squads.

The programme also works to improve the lives of young people aged 13-18 by engaging them in sport coaching roles, through upskilling their knowledge of basketball, and working with young people, with the support of the ‘Lady Rocks Taking the Lead’ youth leadership initiative.

The Gladiator Rocks programme also engages with hundreds of boys and girls annually through the deliver of school and community basketball and dance sessions, roadshows and tournaments, through the support of various Active Schools teams and sportscotland.

The Gladiator Rocks programme uses the sports of basketball and dance, and the role models of the Lady Rocks, as a means to engage young people in regular physical activity with the hope of retaining them within the sport, ultimately providing a pathway to the performance level!

Sport is inclusive with a ‘cool’ image, offering a platform for our coaches and Lady Rocks players to connect with younger generations to ultimately encourage them to reach their full potential!
