PARTNERSHIP | Lady Rocks partner with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity!

October 6, 2018

The Lady Rocks are delighted to announce that we have entered into a partnership with Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity for the 2018/2019 season! This exciting new partnership will see the Cumbernauld based side support the fundraising efforts of the Charity at home matches and through fundraising appeals.

We’re delighted to announce our formal partnership with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, a cause that is doing tremendous work to improve the life chances and quality of young children across Scotland!

The Charity has become a close friend of the Lady Rocks Basketball Club in recent times through numerous fundraisers. With a fair number of club supporters, members and staff already organising their own fundraising events for GCHC, this formal partnership only made sense for both sides.

We look forward to supporting Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity this year through our various fundraising events, in particular #PlasterItPurple, a nationwide effort from the Charity and its partners to raise much needed funds.” - Josh Anderson, Lady Rocks Club Development Officer.

Lady Rocks stars Erin Gilbride, Nadele Strain and Taylor McKeown were on hand today [6th October] at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Glasgow, to hand over a cheque of £1,099.49 to the Children's Charity from the recent Rocks Classic Charity match and to formally tip-off this new partnership, seeing first hand some of the incredible work being carried out by the Charity.

We’ve had such brilliant support from the Lady Rocks team and supporters recently, and are delighted to announce our partnership. We’re asking all of our supporters to #PlasterItPurple this October, and are thrilled that the Lady Rocks are getting involved to support the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital.” - Lara MacDonald, Senior Community Fundraiser at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity.

YOU can play your part in supporting Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity this October when

YOUR Lady Rocks take on Edinburgh University in our Crossbasket Game of the Week on Friday 26th October!
