As we near the beginning of the 2018/19 season, the Lady Rocks Basketball Club are delighted to begin announcing the coaching staff who will lead up teams for the new season. Today we're delighted to announce that Josh Anderson will be back for season 2018/19 as the Head Coach of the U12 and U14 Lady Rocks teams! Paul Kerr will also return as the U12 Assistant Coach/Team Manager.
"I'm delighted to be back on board for another season as the Head Coach for our U12 and U14 squads, working with a great group of girls who are striving to become better basketball players daily! We laid some really great foundations this past year which we as a club can only build on for the season ahead; I'm really looking forward to the challenge that this new season will bring!" - Josh Anderson, U12 and U14 Head Coach.
Our U12 Lady Rocks team compete in the West Regional Development League. Training sessions have a real focus on individual movement capacity, mobility and joint stability to withstand the demands of basketball. The primary focus of the club at this stage, therefore, is to develop fundamental movement patterns as well as the skill sets necessary to play within local and regional competition.
Our U14 Lady Rocks follow a similar philosophy to that of the U12 squad, however, there are great opportunities for U14 players to progress on to the performance ladder. The competition pathway for the U14 Lady Rocks this season will include the West Regional Development League and the U14 Scottish Cup.
