Recently we announced the signing of Taylor McKeown to the Lady Rocks Senior Women squad for season 2018-19. Taylor, a home grown talent, will return to the Cumbernauld side after a one year absence and it is understood that she is ready for what the challenge of a new season will bring!
How do you feel being back at the Lady Rocks?
"I'm really happy to be back at the club! It's great to be with my teammates again, including training alongside some new faces in the team. I'm delighted to be back a part of the great family that is the Lady Rocks!"
What is going to be a challenge to you personally this coming season?
"A challenge for me this off-season will be getting my fitness and match readiness back to where it needs to be in preparation of the new season. Another challenge for me will be to get my skill set to a point that is better than it was the last time I represented the club."
What was it like being away from the club- Did you learn anything about yourself?
"I think it was great for me to have a break away from basketball; it's ok for people involved in sport to take a break when they need it. I would say from around January onwards I really began to miss the club, the routine in my life that basketball can provide and being around my teammates!"
What would it mean this season to end the soon-to-be seven year silverware drought for the Senior squad?
"Yeah that would be a bonus! I think the most important thing for us right now is to get the team in the door, take every training session and then match as it comes and just to work as hard as we can to get stronger as a team."
Are you looking forward to getting back out on court and playing in front of the Lady Rocks fans?
"I'm really looking forward to it, especially hearing Neil Strain and his drum! It's also good to get back playing; I'm quite competitive so the thought of winning matches in front of a capacity home crowd is definitely going to spur me on!"
