Congratulations to the U14 Lady Rocks squad who came away with two wins at their final matches of the West Regional Development League on Sunday 18th February! The squad will
now progress on to the U14 National Challenge taking place in Inverness on Sunday 18th March 2018.
The U14 Lady Rocks started out their final West RDL day of 17/18 by taking on a strong St Mirren side, a club who in recent times the Lady Rocks have had some excellent matches against! The girls came out from the tip-off with a strong team performance, with our team defence being the key to the teams' success.
Following their victory over St Mirren, the girls would then take on a physical Glasgow Fever side who would prove a difficult opponent to stop on the offensive and defensive rebounds. Nevertheless, the Lady Rocks overcame this challenge by stopping Fever's offence through strong transitional defence, leading to quick fast break opportunities for the Rocks!
U14 Lady Rocks Head Coach, Josh Anderson, was delighted with his teams performance on February 18th, but insists his side are staying focussed and not becoming complacent as they come to the business end of the season-
"We're delighted with the girls' performances today, particular the team effort and energy
shown on and off the court! The coaching staff feel that these two performances have, so far, been the best we have seen from the entire team this year! However, we do believe that the very best is yet to come. This year has been a season of growth and development for all of our players, which has resulted in improved results for the U14 squad and qualification to the National Challenge. Despite the brilliant achievement of going undefeated for the West RDL's this season, our girls remain focussed and ready for the challenge that comes with competing at a National Challenge event!"
