Massive congratulations to our Under 12 and Under 14 Lady Rocks squads who have both qualified for the National Challenge 2018 competition after a successful day at the second last West Regional Development League of the 2017/18 season! This is the first time an Under 12 and 2nd time
an Under 14 Lady Rocks squad will compete at the National Challenge.
The Under 12 Girls started out their day taking on Glasgow City, followed by St Mirren and finishing off with a 1-point thriller vs Ayr Storm!
The Under 14 Girls continued on with the Lady Rocks day of basketball with a strong victory over the Renfrewshire Raiders, followed by finishing the day by over turning an 11 point deficit at halftime to score the decisive basket in the last 10 seconds of the game to beat St Mirren by 1 point!
The Under 14 Girls also remain undefeated in the West Regional Development League!
Head Coach of the U12 and U14 squads, Josh Anderson, had this to say- "We are delighted with the girls' performances today across both squads! As a club we've put a real emphasis this season on focussing on the players' individual improvement and how this applies to our teams, rather than focussing on the end of match score lines. It however is not by coincidence that our results have improved match on match- this is due to the hardwork and commitment show by our players week in and out! We look forward to being part of the process of the National Challenge, and most importantly, seeing how our players use this brilliant opportunity to further develop as young people, and as basketball players!"
