Teamwork is key to cup final success, says Captain Rafferty!

The 2022 edition of the basketballscotland Scottish Cup Finals is almost upon us, and your U18 Lady Rocks will look to defend their title when they face off against the winner of second semi-final round between Falkirk Fury and Ayr Storm.

It has been a turbulent season due to the continued impact of covid-19, meaning that the 2022 Finals are taking place three months later than usual. This, however, has not stopped the determination of our Lady Rocks in pulling together a run go great results en route to the Final!

"I’m most looking forward to the experience of the first cup final back after after the pandemic. It’s been a real challenge for us getting back but we are so pleased to have made it this far and reach the final as a team.
Our main emphasis is to be the loudest team both on and off the court and ensure we are working and playing together as a team and supporting one another the full way through." - Lucy Rafferty, U18 Captain

It has been a season in which the support provided by the Lady Rocks Fans has been most evident, often creating a second-to-none atmosphere home and away. We will need your support one more time as we look to bring home the silverware.

"The fans are a major part of our club and the support they have brought us so far has helped us get to the finals from cheering, supporting and the drums. We aim to have the same atmosphere for this cup final ahead as it means so much to us." - Lucy Rafferty, U18 Captain

"The support of the fans is thoroughly appreciated. The past couple of years have shown just how pivotal they are to the club. They make the atmosphere special for the girls who thoroughly enjoyable playing in front of them." - Tony McDaid, U18 Head Coach
