Updated: Oct 23

The Caledonia Gladiators will take on the Leicester Riders at the Emirates Arena this Sunday in their first home game in the BBL Championship this season.

Gareth Murray’s Gladiators side are coming off the back of three consecutive away games in which they suffered two losses, including their most recent match which ended in a 78-61 loss to the Cheshire Phoenix.

The Riders, led by Rob Paternostro, will travel to Glasgow after picking up their second win of the season in a 102-89 win over the Manchester Giants at home.

The last time the two sides met ended in a 107-95 win for the Riders in the second leg BBL playoffs semi-finals. The Riders won that match-up on aggregate 209-162 and went on to win the playoff final against Manchester.

The Gladiators will look to carry the momentum from their previous games into this Sunday’s contest as the likes of Darian Adams, Prince Onwas and Jeremiah Bailey have shown exceptional form for the Scottish outfit as of late.

While the Riders will be relying on players such as Derryck Thornton and Conner Washington to lead them into what will be a difficult away test.

As always, the atmosphere in the Emirates Arena will offer an important boost to the players as they go on the hunt for their second championship win, just four games into the season.

Tip off is at 5pm on Sunday the 23rd, be sure to bring the noise!
